Today was another day with another outstanding beach wedding at Oak Island North Carolina beaches. Could not have asked for better weather and the bride a groom were spirited offbeat and had an fantastic assortment of friends. You could tell there was alot of love there, once again I felt honored

Had an amazing time doing a destination wedding for a stunning couple at the Fearrington Village, here in North Carolina. I was assisted by two other amazing photographers from the Wilmington area. I was very grateful for their assistance and expertise in documenting this special wedding.

This year has taken to The Surf Club in Wrightsville Beach North Carolina. Bride and groom were amazing spirited souls that truly shared alot of love with each other and the guests. I felt honored to be part of this wedding as their photographer being that the brides mother is such a influence in the art community in Wilmington NC. The day could not have been any better, a light wind, diffused sun light with clouds and a light breeze coming off the ocean to just create an atmosphere that all weddings should posses. The Surf Club is a private members only club on the Wrightsville Beach near the north end of the island just past Johnny Mercers pier. Thinking of having a Wrightsville Beach wedding? Hello, I am Chris Van Atta , and I’m a destination wedding photographer serving Lake Eden in Asheville NC. I truly enjoy my profession as a wedding photographer and long to share my passion and craft with all offbeat brides seeking something different. Lake Eden has come to be a special place for me personally as it is home of one the WNC’s finest family festival in the world, the LEAF festival, or Lake Eden Arts Festival. I have personally made 8 festivals here as Lake Eden just outside of Asheville North Carolina.

Professional wedding photography has been such an amazing blessing for me in my life as i get to share the gifts that reside inside my soul. Writing my viewers from Green Sage coffee house in downtown Asheville NC. The weather is kinda mild chill as the leaves have turned colors and fall is almost over with winter setting in.
This wedding season here in Asheville has been a great one, thanks for all the local support and those who heart photography for the offbeat bride. I as a photographer could not have had a better season. My heart has always been in Asheville from the time i first past thru the city in 2005, I knew i would return after a short experience years back where i moved here and stayed in a 35 ft rv that i purchased in Florida. What was i thinking in those days,looking back and thinking how i found this beast of a RV that was built in the 70’s. It truly did allow me to have a great time though, as for i was still shooting film and digital was just coming to the surface. I even had a darkroom in the back two bedrooms where i would spend time developing photos from my local excursions and photo trips into downtown Asheville.

I had my last wedding for the season this past weekend in Myrtle Beach SC. and will be taking some RR nand visiting old friends in NY and Florida, A trip to Spain has been in the works, but for now just wrapping up the wedding season with a trash the dress photoshoot this afternoon which will take place in Saluda, a small town just south of Hendersonville NC. I was greeted by many wonderful photographers in the area and people who i have looked up to over the years such as Parker Pfister photography to mention just one of my favorites.

The highlights of my Asheville journey, has been making a new friend and awesome videographer Mike Gentillini ugh i probably hacked his name up, i need to go look and fix it,, But anyway. In my opinion one of the top wedding videographers in town. He not only is great and passionate about his craft, but his customer service is second to none. He uses the finest wedding tools on the market such as Jibs,and steady cams to provide flawless HD custom videos that will bring years of memories for generations to come.

Yes this is correct, the wedding photography season here is coming to a close, and we all know how beautiful Asheville Mts can be. However, i truly have been always wanting to go out into the wilderness and change my photos to possibly wildlife or maybe even fly fishing. You know to just get away and be one with nature, take my camera and to just sit and document wildlife in Alaska. I wonder if there is much wedding photography going on there? I am sure there is, just not like i am used to on the beach or sunny destinations where bride and grooms love to play in the surf or invite all their friends and family to a Asheville retreat.

I am a wedding photographer and was just up in the Blue Ridge Parkway this past weekend and I was scouting our new locations for bridal portraits and to search for fresh locations for my offbeat clients. I have seen alot of artistic images shared downtown Asheville at the local venues of photographs of this Craggy Garden wedding location that I think would be a very awesome place to get married.
